Task 6 Retro Graphic Design Styles Commentary For this task I found a poster from the Movie Wall e. Wall e was only released in June 2008 however this particular poster has an early modern feel to it. The simple, geometric shapes and minimal color Platte are common traits of the Early Modern period of 1910 to 1939. The Early Modern Period was known for its repetition, Simple shapes, minimal color Platte, Perspective angles, and heroic realism messages and headings, all of which this poster posses. I believe (having seen this movie) because the movie plays with the idea of the present and the future and were we will be if we continue to live and waste the way we do. I think this flash back in style is reminding us that this issue of waste, recycling and our planets health isn’t a new problem and is still continued to be a problem until we take serious action. I really enjoyed this movie and I think this poster promotes it well.
